Table
Originally I was not going to have a table in my van conversion due to the lack of room, but for the van to be registered as a motor camper on my V5 document a table is one of the requirements needed.
Now that I had built myself a table I am glad I’ve got one now, It even dissembles and tucks out of the way when not in use as well.
Installation
I purchased an island table leg set off the internet for £22. All I had to do was make the top part of the table.
1. Leg mount base
First, i drilled a hole in the floor for the leg base and then screwed to the floor.

2. Making the table
The table is made out of some left over wood. I decided to make the table square with round corners. It can be made into any shape really but I decided with a square.
I cut some wood into 5 same size lengths.

5 lengths of wood same size.
Made a round shape on the 4 corners using masking tape roll.

Now to cut along the line I made by marking around the masking tape.

Sand to a smooth finish.

Before staining the table I sanded it all over to a smooth finish.

staining the wood the same colour as everything else in van.
Once the stain dried I then screwed the leg table mount in the centre of the underneath side of the table.

leg slots in the mount. and then into the floor.

3. Storage
When the table is not in use, it dissembles and then is stored on the side of my cupboard next to the sliding door.
I screwed a strip of wood to the side of the cupboard for the table to rest on and then a twisty hook made out of wood to keep the table in place.

The table stored on the side of the cupboard.
The leg is also stored next to the table, I used a couple of U-clamps to hold it in place.

Hi there! Really like what you did 🙂 What kind of wood and what kind of wood stain did you use?

hey, thanks. The timber I used was 1inchx4inch for the external of the bed, cupboard and kitchen. The wood stain was jacobean colour. Contact me for any more questions you may have.
