When I purchased my van I never intended to have a full respray, I was only going to touch up the body work imperfections myself. Luckily I work with painters at Norwich airport.
6 months ago I questioned one of them if it would be possible to get the van resprayed? and if it would be a cheap price? WOW I was so glad I asked. I got told I could have a FULL VAN RESPRAY for £800 and my choice of colour. At this point I was soooooo excited and wanted it to be painted straight away but unfortunately he was too busy painting planes. When he gets time he said he will contact me.
That time has come!! The van has had a full respray and I went with the colour Gun Metal Grey. I love it. It was in the paint shop for a total of 6 days.
Before anything could begin I had to strip the van of its parts.
- Side Mirrors
- Sliding door
- Sliding door runner
- Interior door panel
- Licence plate
- Window trims
- Door handles
After removing all the parts I organised them to keep everything together so nothing gets lost. I covered it all with a poly sheet to protect from the dust and paint.
Once all the parts got removed he started masking the van up.
You can see in the photo below all the little dents I filled.
After being sanded down it got primed
At this point someone decided to draw rude pictures on the windows. I should have known they would mess around with it.
Then the paint and lacquer went on.
ITS SO SHINY!!
The van went from this
I’m so happy with my colour change and am extremely lucky to have a friend to do it for very cheap. I do miss the colour red sometimes but It reminded me of a post mans van way to much.
Now all the body work it finished and painted I can put all my effort to the inside of the van.
